Neighborhood Protection & Preservation
I want to congratulate the recipients of the Greater Houston Preservation Alliance’s Good Brick Award recognizing excellence in historic preservation.
I’d particularly like to extend congratulations to my former workplace, Reagan High School. Because of our hard work in the successful Transformation Reagan project, the school has been selected as “one of the best renovation[s] in Houston history!”
Because of my advocacy for historic preservation, the Houston Archaeological and Historic Commission (HAHC) recently appointed me to one of its subcommittees. Last Friday, I attended my first meeting.
I’m working with HAHC to identify more historic structures in need of recognition and preservation, so we can celebrate our city’s beauty and history, and make our neighborhoods even better places to live for everyone. If you know of a historic building in need of recognition, e-mail me at info@maverickwelsh.com or call my office at 713-623-1963.
That’s what you can expect from me as your City Council Member for District H — involvement in the community and accessibility to everybody’s input.
I welcome you to learn more about my strong stance on historic preservation and neighborhood improvement at my issues page.
